The Medium Coffee Cup is a study in tactile proportion. Hand-poured in our Berlin studio, its form is distilled to the essential, offering a generous volume for the daily caffeine ritual. Crafted from Limoges porcelain, each cup is high-fired to 1260°C, transitioning the liquid clay into a vitrified, enduring state. This handmade porcelain cup represents a dialogue between technical discipline and the soft, organic variations inherent to the slip-casting process.
The Sensory Profile
Feel: A balanced, grounding weight; the exterior remains unglazed for a raw, mineral-like touch.
Texture: A deliberate contrast. The exterior surface is left matte and tactile, celebrating the natural porcelain texture, while the interior is finished with a high-gloss, food-safe glaze for effortless utility.
Aesthetic: Muted, creme white tones that interact with ambient light, casting soft, architectural shadows.
Ritual and Maintenance
The Application: Ideally suited for a large cappuccino, an aromatic pour over extracted coffee, or steeped herbal infusions. The cup is designed to retain heat while allowing the steam to rise—a quiet invitation to pause before the first sip.
Care: While this Berlin-crafted ceramic is resilient and dishwasher-safe, we prioritize hand-washing to maintain the integrity of the unglazed exterior. To remove occasional metal traces from spoons, a paste of bicarbonate of soda or a 'magic eraser' is recommended to restore the porcelain’s pristine clarity.
